Kenya is positioning herself as a premier wedding and honeymoon destination in the region.
Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) says exclusive packages for honeymooners and wedding events have been developed to accommodate varied clientele who have an opportunity to visit different parts of the country.
Last week, KTB participated in Bride and Groom Expo, hosted by the Vision Group Uganda, from 23rd – 25th June 2017.
KTB had partnered with the EXPO organizers to leverage on this vantage positioning with a view of growing the number of visitors from Uganda into Kenya. Uganda is one of the Kenya’s top tourist source markets from Africa, and with a huge potential to post more arrivals into the country
At the close of 2016, the market recorded a remarkable growth of 75.7% increase in air arrivals closing at 51,023 exclusive of cross border arrivals up from 29,038 recorded in 2015.
The integrated approach to grow the market through campaigns, use of influencers like Eddy Kenzo and joint initiatives is achieving visitor growth numbers from Uganda to Kenya. “We will continue to leverage of marketing initiatives that keep Kenya top of mind for Ugandans”, said KTB CEO Dr Betty Radier at the opening of the EXPO.
The EXPO attracted over 8000 visitors through the three days and availed visitors an opportunity to visit the Magical Kenya stand.
