KTB Recognizes Stakeholders through the Magical Kenya Loyalty Rewards Program
The Magical Kenya Loyalty Rewards Program was introduced by the Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) to recognize and appreciate stakeholders who actively supported KTB-led marketing initiatives during the 2023/24 financial year. The program aims to strengthen relationships with key tourism players such as airlines, tour operators, hoteliers, and conservancy owners, who play a crucial role in enhancing Kenya’s tourism value chain. By acknowledging their contributions, the MKLR Program seeks to position KTB as the preferred partner for the tourism industry, fostering a collaborative environment that would ultimately benefit all parties involved.
This Program features a structured points-based system that rewards stakeholders based on their participation in various KTB-led marketing activities. These included travel exhibitions like the Magical Kenya Travel Expo(MKTE), in-market roadshows, familiarization trips, and advertising in KTB collateral. Each activity is assigned a specific number of points, and stakeholders could accumulate points to advance through four tiers: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. The highest tier, Platinum, required stakeholders to earn 100 points and above. This structured approach ensured that all contributions, whether monetary or in-kind, were recognized and rewarded during the Magical Kenya Travel Expo.
Each tier within the MKLR Program offers a range of benefits, with greater rewards at higher tiers. Platinum members enjoy a 30% discount on participation fees for KTB-led events, special recognition in the KTB e-newsletter, and priority selection for familiarization trips. Gold and Silver tier members received similar benefits at lower discount rates, while Bronze members were awarded certificates of recognition for their support. This tier system provided incentives for stakeholders to continue engaging with KTB-led initiatives, strengthening partnerships and encouraging future collaborations.
