One Tourist, One Tree Campaign Launch

Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) is championing a new initiative, “One Tourist, One Tree,” aimed at engaging visitors and stakeholders in sustainable tourism practices through tree-planting activities. The campaign was launched during Kenya Tourism Week at Kajulu Hills Forest in Kisumu County, highlighting the country's commitment to environmental conservation while boosting tourism.

KTB CEO June Chepkemei emphasized that the board will play a crucial role in marketing the initiative across Kenya's nine tourism circuits: Nairobi Circuit, Central Kenya Circuit, Coastal Circuit, Northern Circuit, Western Circuit, Southern Circuit, North Rift Circuit, South Rift Circuit, and Eastern Circuit. This strategic approach will ensure that every county benefits from the diverse attractions within its region, thereby driving inclusive growth and solidifying Kenya's status as a must-visit destination.

“This campaign aligns with our commitment to showcase Kenya’s unique biodiversity and promote responsible tourism,” said KTB CEO June Chepkemei. “By planting trees, tourists can leave a lasting impact on Kenya’s landscape and be part of the national goal to increase tree cover to 30% by 2032.”
