"With the affirmation of this marketing collaboration, we expect to see a significant increase in the number of visitors from within Air Asia’s network across Southeast Asia, Northern Asia and Australia choosing Kenya for the safari tour, cultural tours and adventure. This Nairobi route will serve as a crucial link in connecting Asia and Africa, fostering stronger trade, tourism and business ties within the region. We know Nairobi, for instance, is a thriving commercial hub and a getaway to the African continent. With that, I am confident that this will enhance connectivity between the Asian market and Africa through calculated investments, partnerships and economic opportunities." June Chepkemei, KTB CEO.

Under the slogan 'Everyone Can Fly', Air Asia X aims to connect people by making travel accessible for all. From 15th November 2024, Air Asia X will fly four times a week from Kuala Lumpur directly to Nairobi. With JKIA being the second-largest transit corridor on the continent, Nairobi will be the carrier’s first foray into Africa.
